I am contacting you today regarding a television series I'm producing called
CITIES OF THE UNDERWORLD for the History Channel. We are filming an episode
in Vietnam at the end of July, and have begun the process of applying for
permits and working with the Ministry of Culture. Here is a brief synopsis
of the show:
In CITIES OF THE UNDERWORLD, our adventurous host, Don Wildman, journeys
beneath the busy streets of some of the world’s greatest cities to uncover
escape routes, crypts, dungeons and even entire palaces. Whether he’s
lifting manhole covers, rappelling down subterranean tunnels, or paddling
through underground rivers, local archeologists and experts will accompany
Don on his underworld adventure to dig up the secrets of past civilizations.
For one of our segments we will be filming in the DMZ/Vinh Moc Tunnels area.
We would like to capture the American perspective about the fighting that
took place there. I'm wondering if anyone in your organization would be
interested in serving as our guide. We would like to hear about their
experience fighting in the war and in those particular tunnels.
This program is a wonderful opportunity for publicity, as the History
Channel has a substantial audience both in the United States and abroad. Its
target demographic is adults 25-54 and over two million viewers watch the
premiere of each episode.
